Orange is a French multinational corporation engaged in communications. The company employs about 170,000 people, 105,000 of them in France, and has about 230 million customers worldwide. The company’s revenues in 2012 amounted to 43.5 billion euros. The company’s headquarters are located in the fifteenth district of Paris.

Since 2006, Orange has been the company’s main brand name for mobile, landline, Internet and IPTV. The name originated in 1994 when the Hutchison & Mapa Corporation acquired control of the British company Microtell Communications and changed its name to Orange during a rebranding. The company was acquired by France Telecom in 2000.
